Who Lives Happily Ever After-Part 2 Janeway walked over to her couch wrapped in a thick cotton robe she had andsank down into her couch, idly staring out her view port at the starsstreaming by at high warp before she turned to the sall computer counsel infront of her. Computer begin Janeway Personal Log Supplemental: Today had to be one of the worst days of my life. After an extensive search I had to declare Ensi.... Correction, Lt. Thomas Eugene Paris killed in the line of duty. We held the memorial a little while ago; I don't know how I made it, Thank God for Chakotay. If it wasn't for him I would have broken down in front of my crew instead of my quarters. I have to get this off my chest if I don't it will drive me crazy, but it's my fault Tom's dead. Chakotay tells me not to blame myself, it was a routine supply run even though Tom had to fly through Ge'Him space. We didn't detect any of their ships anywhere in this sector. So it was supposed to be safe. I should have followed my gut; it told me something was wrong, but I ignored it. Then Harry came in with his request about the proto nebula. "A greatbackground View for the party," he said. I had to fight my gut telling me something was going to happen, but I chalked it up to nerves. We haven't see nor detected any Ge'Him ships for days, what did I have to worry about? Now in retrospect I wish I had listened to my gut. I should have ordered astrometrics to sweep the sector again. Made sure it was clear before we moved to the nebula. Better yet, I should have waited for Tom to get back, butI thought the idea of the nebula as a backdrop for the party was a good idea. So did everyone else. Oh God, how wrong was I. Janeway wrapped her robe around her tighter for some reason it felt cold.Sinking deeper into her couch, she continued to gaze at the stars. ======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^ Chakotay had just put the last candle in its place and lit it. Moving overto his desk to retrieve his meditation stone he decided to stop and turn onhis computer Computer First Officers Personal Log StarDate 56743.2 Today was Tom's memorial service Kathryn almost lost it but I manage tohelp her through it; I took up the duty of speaking at his wake. It's weird but I can't help keep thinking he's alive and the fact that therewas no body on the shuttle doesn't help matters. I'm going to consult myspirit guides about this to help me through this. It's true Tom and I werenever really close but over the years we have formed a friendship. I'm goingto miss the way he can bring a glimmer of hope to a dire situation when allseems lost with a simple little joke. I'm going to have to also look in on B'Elanna and Harry later. I know thatthey haven't been friends with Tom in a long time; Tom's kept a strictlyprofessional relationship with them ever since he found out about the two ofthem, But regardless they still thought of him as a friend. Right now, however, I'm more concerned about Seven. Nobody but the Doc andmyself noticed how she was taking the situation. When the searching for Tombegan she got almost no sleep. She was pushing herself to find him. I have been aware for sometime that Tom and Seven have been spending a lotof time together, even thought they kept it extremely quiet. When I askedthem about it they said they didn't want people getting the wrong idea aboutthem. I still remember what Tom said. "With my luck that's what they'llthink." I could understand what he meant by that. When I had just found outabout them Vorik had just died, and I have to admit that thought did crossmy mind. I should have known better. Chakotay turned his computer off and went to the small display of items hehad just laid out. He knelt down in front of them and proceed to relax andtry to contact his guides for advice and guidance through this time for himselfand this ship. ======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^ The Doctor sat at his desk finishing up a few reports before beginning hislast one. Continue Doctors Log StartDate 56743.2 I completed my medical evaluation Of Seven of Nine. Physically she checksout fine for someone in her condition, but emotionally I fear she may notfair so well. After Vorik died she was a wreck then. When she started to associate with Toma lot more, I was hoping with there friendship she would start allowing herhumanity to come through again, and I was pleased to see that was happening. Yet again I didn't see the whole picture. For that matter I think no onedid. After the services Seven retreated to Tom's cabin and has yet to leave.I still have no idea as to the extent of there relationship, but if I haveto go with the evidence I know I have......Regardless of this I must informthe captain. End Medical Log ======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^ B'Elanna had been debating what to do since she had got back to her quartersclutching the fabric in her hands she walked over to her computer consoleand turned it on. "I can't do this, Computer *Sob* End Log" B'Elanna brought the shirt she took from Tom's quarters up to her nose andbreathed in his scent. After taking off her own shirt, she put it on. Shewalked over to her couch and curled up into a ball inhaling as much of theshirt's scent as she could before falling asleep. ======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^ Seven pulled the covers over her and wrapped them tighter. She gazedblankly at the computer console next to the bed for a good 10 minutes beforeshe decided what she was going to say. Computer begin Personal Log Seven Of Nine. I lost Tom today. He was my best friend. He was there for me when Vorikdied; he helped me to accept his death, and move on. He helped me to functionagain. Contrary to what is going to be popular belief Aamongst the crew, Tom and Iwere never more than friends. Aside from our one night together we had nodesire to see each other romantically, but that I fear is not how otherswill view our relationship. Soon the crew will know I'm pregnant with Tom's child. I have yet to leave hisroom; the doctor had to come here and examine me he came shortly afterLt. Torres-Kim came, saw me and just left. I meant to ask her what she wasdoing here but was unable to ask her as she left to fast. Something has just come to my realization; I don't know how I will react withTom gone. He helped to adapt to situations as they arose, helped me tounderstand the proper way a person should act. *CHUCKLE* He often told me I was some times too direct. I will....I... I miss him. Seven pulled up her leg's closer to her body and looked out the view portover Tom's bed at the stars streaming by as another. Tear left her eye, shemoved her hand to her face and wiped up the tear then looked at it andmumbled "Curious." ======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^ Tuvok sat behind his desk and put the last of the pads down. Commputer Countinue Chief Officers Log StarDate 56743.3 Today was the memorial of Lt. Paris. The captain had reinstated his old rank. When I asked her why she simply said it was the right thing to do. On a more personal note I'm finding unsettling that I can not accept Mr.Paris death, the absences of his body do not help matters. Even thought thedoctor has assured us that the amount of blood found in the Delta Flyer canleave no room for argument I still find myself wondering if he is alive. After all I have seen him survive things that would kill most humans. Forthis reason alone I'm leaving this case unsolved. End Log ======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^ Personal Log Harry Kim I....I don't know what to say. I mean, what can I say? We haven't been friendsfor a long time. Sure we were civil to each other, but we weren't friendsanymore, not since B'Elanna chose me. I can't say I'm sorry for that; I loveB'Elanna and she loves me. So why right now do I feel guilty? End Log Harry turned off the computer and quietly walked into his bedroom, carefulnot to wake B'Elanna where she had fallen asleep on the couch. ======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^======^ Tom Paris awoke in plane of white that stretched out in all directions. Whenhe started to get his bearings he noticed his head be cradled. When he lookedup, he saw a beautiful African women stoking his for head. She was lookingdown him with such caring. "Where am I?" "You are with us." "Who are you?" "I am Sarah." "Why am I here? For that matter, where is here?" "You are here because we felt your pain and knew the time was at hand." "And as for where you are your at the Celestial Temple." Tom was startled by the new voice. He blotted up right to face the new voice. He was shocked to be looking at the face of Commander--no, correction, 4 pips--Captain Sisko of Deep Space 9. It was then as Tom was getting up that he notice the strip in his wrist cuffof his uniform, then instead of the red shoulders and bluegray shirt he noticed them reversed with the shoulders of his uniform now ribbed andbluegray, his shirt now maroon in color. Before he could think to ask Siskospoke up. "I see you notice your new uniform, I thought you would like the updated version" "Yeah, thanks. I have to say it looks better than the old one." Tom gave them a nervous smile. "So, could one of you tell me what's going on?" "Sure. You're dead." To Be Countinued
