SERPENT'S KISS

He had to leave, and leave forever dear
the one who could in him effect such change
as would a man as he, to stay as near
forget his task at hand, that to arrange

all men whose clear ability to read
their minds - and relocate them all
to certain hell's damnation, never freed.
sweet her kiss that led him to his fall.

With her he felt the lure of grace and care
in her the sense of long desired pride.
yet in her eyes led to the serpent's lair
and feel betrayal's sting he could not hide.

Her kiss, to drown and die, sweet nectar's drink
delayed his goal, lost purpose in a wink.
